TERMS OF SERVICE — RANCHASSIST™ CATTLE PROFIT CALCULATOR
Last updated: August 30, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the RanchAssist™ Cattle Profit Calculator (the “Calculator”) and its associated informational pages. By using the Calculator, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Calculator.
2. Purpose of the Calculator
The Calculator is a planning and estimation tool designed to help users organize user-entered assumptions for cattle-enterprise economics, including Cow-Calf, Stocker / Backgrounder, Buy · Feed · Sell, and Custom models.
The Calculator may produce estimates such as projected profit or margin, profit per head, margin per cow exposed, total projected profit or margin, breakeven price, projected ROI, cost of gain, annual cost per cow, cost per calf weaned, pounds weaned per cow exposed, and related measures.
3. Planning Estimates Only
All outputs are planning estimates based on the information and assumptions entered by the user.
The Calculator does not guarantee:
- Purchase or sale prices
- Market basis
- Cattle weight or average daily gain
- Pregnancy, calving, or weaning outcomes
- Death loss or morbidity
- Shrink
- Feed conversion or ration performance
- Feed, pasture, freight, veterinary, mineral, labor, or marketing costs
- Financing rates or interest expense
- Revenue, profit, margin, breakeven, or return on investment
- Any specific operating or financial outcome
Actual results may differ materially from calculated results.
4. Not Financial, Investment, Lending, Tax, Accounting, Veterinary, or Nutrition Advice
The Calculator and its outputs are not financial advice, investment advice, lending advice, tax advice, accounting advice, veterinary advice, nutrition advice, commodity-market advice, or a recommendation to buy, retain, feed, finance, hedge, or sell cattle.
Use qualified professionals and current operation-specific records where appropriate.
5. No Market Forecast
The Calculator does not claim to predict future cattle prices, feed prices, basis, interest rates, cattle performance, or market conditions. Sensitivity analysis simply recalculates a user-defined scenario at alternative assumptions. It is not a forecast.
6. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Entering accurate and relevant information
- Confirming units and assumptions
- Reviewing Calculation Details and understanding how outputs are derived
- Replacing example/default values with operation-specific values
- Verifying purchase, sale, feed, freight, lender, commission, tax, and other terms independently
- Determining whether a calculated scenario is appropriate for your operation
- Protecting any project files or exports you create
- Reviewing reports before sharing them
7. Example Values
Any default numbers included in the Calculator are editable examples intended to demonstrate the workflow. They are not recommendations, benchmarks, promises, or claims about current market conditions.
8. Project Data and Session Model
The Calculator is designed as a standalone, session-first tool and does not require a RanchAssist account for normal use.
Browser sessionStorage may be used for active-session recovery. sessionStorage is not permanent saving.
The Calculator is designed not to permanently store standalone project data in a RanchAssist-hosted project database by default.
9. RanchAssist .ra Project Files
You may use Save Project to create a local RanchAssist .ra project file containing the complete editable state required to resume the project.
You are responsible for safeguarding, backing up, naming, sharing, and deleting .ra project files stored on your own devices or storage systems.
RanchAssist does not guarantee recovery of a lost, deleted, corrupted, incompatible, or inaccessible local project file.
10. Exports and Sharing
The Calculator may provide CSV, print/PDF, Copy Summary, and Email Summary capabilities.
Exports are snapshots or reports and are not necessarily equivalent to the complete editable .ra project state.
When you export, copy, print, or email information, you are responsible for the destination and recipients you select.
11. Email Feature
When the Calculator is deployed through Google Apps Script, Email Summary may use Google Apps Script MailApp. You may use this feature only for lawful messages you are authorized to send.
Do not use the email feature for spam, harassment, impersonation, fraudulent communication, or unlawful distribution of information.
12. Acceptable Use
You may use the Calculator for lawful ranch, farm, agricultural, educational, business-planning, advisory, or personal planning purposes.
You may not:
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Calculator or its hosting environment
- Attempt to access private application credentials or secrets
- Use the service to distribute malware or harmful code
- Circumvent security controls or usage restrictions
- Misrepresent calculated estimates as guaranteed RanchAssist forecasts or certified financial conclusions
- Use the Calculator in violation of applicable law
13. Intellectual Property
The RanchAssist name, product identity, Calculator design, source materials, documentation, and related content may be protected by intellectual-property rights. Except where a separate license expressly allows otherwise, use of the Calculator does not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
You retain responsibility for and rights in the project information and assumptions you enter, subject to any rights that may apply to source materials you did not create.
14. Availability and Changes
The Calculator may be changed, updated, corrected, suspended, or discontinued. Features, formulas, layouts, export behavior, browser support, and project-file schemas may evolve over time.
RanchAssist does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service.
15. Project Compatibility
The Calculator may validate .ra project files and reject files that are corrupt, incomplete, from a different RanchAssist tool, or created with an unsupported newer format.
When practical, older supported project schemas may be migrated. Compatibility with every historical or future file is not guaranteed.
16. Third-Party Services
Hosting, browser functionality, Google Apps Script, email delivery, or other supporting services may be provided by third parties. RanchAssist is not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, browser limitations, or service interruptions beyond its control.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Calculator is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
No calculation should be treated as a warranty of cattle performance, financial performance, or future market conditions.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RanchAssist and its operators, owners, contributors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, livestock losses, lost data, financing costs, business interruption, or decisions made in reliance on Calculator outputs.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of the Calculator, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another party’s rights.
20. No Professional Relationship
Use of the Calculator does not create a fiduciary, advisory, lender-borrower, veterinarian-client-patient, nutritionist-client, accountant-client, attorney-client, broker-client, or other professional relationship with RanchAssist.
21. Privacy
Use of the Calculator is also subject to its Privacy Policy, which describes the session-first data model, .ra project files, exports, and email sharing.
22. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated as the Calculator or supporting services change. The “Last updated” date should be revised when material changes are made.
23. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions should continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
24. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be submitted through the Contact & Help page associated with the Cattle Profit Calculator.
25. Deployment Review
These Terms are product-ready general terms for the supplied Calculator architecture, but they are not a substitute for legal review tailored to the identity, jurisdiction, business structure, insurance, risk tolerance, and deployment practices of the site operator. A deployment owner should obtain appropriate legal review before relying on these Terms as final legal counsel.
